Model Description:
It is a model that faithfully reproduces the "GR Supra TRD 3000GT Concept" that was customized by TRD based on the "Toyota GR Supra" that was announced in 2019 and became a big topic all over the world.
It is said that it was done in collaboration with BMW to follow the Supra tradition of 6-cylinder + rear-wheel drive, but it was developed completely separately only after a meeting was held on the shared parts of the platform and engine at the initial stage. It was done.
The chassis started with a wheelbase-to-tread ratio of 1.6 or less to improve cornering performance, and a two-seater was adopted to achieve a 50:50 weight balance between the front and rear. Also, by using the same platform as the Z4, it was possible to use a highly rigid side sill, and it was possible to use a monocoque that is about 2.5 times as rigid as the Toyota 86.
At the 2019 SEMA show, TRD exhibited the "GR Supra TRD 3000GT Concept". The original "TRD 3000 GT" was announced at the 1994 Auto Salon as a complete car of the JZA80 type Supra.
It was equipped with exactly the same aero parts as the Supra that participated in the JGTC at that time.
The "GR Supra TRD 3000GT Concept" based on the GR Supra can be seen everywhere as a homage to the "TRD 3000GT". It features a newly designed carbon front spoiler, side skirts, door trims, rear diffuser, rear wings and more. The design is different, but the over fender, which is a big feature, is also installed.
Functional parts are selected by Japanese manufacturers. The suspension was TEIN, the wheels were TWS, and the seats were created in collaboration with BRIDE and a famous Japanese after-parts manufacturer.
The model reproduces the atmosphere of the actual vehicle based on the 3D data of GR Supra provided by Toyota Motor Corporation.
The bonnet, door panel, rear quarter panel, etc. have characteristic press lines, making it a body with many highlights. The headlights that use LEDs are three-dimensionally reproducing the same six units as the actual vehicle.
TRD parts are newly created by creating 3D data. In order to create a sense of unity between the parts and the body, we have prepared a body that is different from the standard Supra. Since the aero parts are made of carbon, carbon decals are also attached to the model to aim for a realistic finish.
